Can I play for cash in my state?

The rules governing online sweepstakes, contests, and tournaments with entry fees or prizes are determined by each individual state, not the federal government.

In accordance with these laws, players who reside in the following states will not be able to upgrade their membership to participate in cash tournaments:

  • Arkansas
  • Connecticut
  • Delaware
  • Illinois
  • Louisiana
  • Maryland
  • Montana
  • South Carolina
  • South Dakota
  • Tennessee

If you reside in one of the states above you can still register and participate in the free tournaments, however, you will not be able to participate in the cash tournaments.

Florida and Arizona restrictions - Florida and Arizona residents are able to upgrade and play cash competitions, however, the variety of types of tournaments will be limited, in agreement with the state's restrictions. Per the restrictions of Florida and Arizona legislation, residents would not be able to enter any cash tournaments other than the Fixed Prize Unlimited Entry tournaments. Fixed Prize Unlimited Entry tournaments are fixed-entry fee tournaments with predetermined and fixed prizes that are not directly funded by the entry fees received. Fixed Prize Unlimited Entry tournaments allow players to enter the same competition as many times as they want for a fixed prize.

Indiana and Maine restrictions - Indiana and Maine residents can upgrade and participate in cash tournaments, however, they will not be able to participate in any of the Card-style games on WorldWinner per the state's restrictions.

If you would like to see the laws changed in your state (as we would!) then please contact your state legislator!
